This recipe does not need a long list of ingredients or complicated steps to enjoy this decadent sweet treat. I created these Tiramisu Stuffed Dates on a lazy evening when I was craving tiramisu but didn’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. With just a few simple ingredients, these little bites capture the magic of tiramisu in a naturally sweet, bite-sized form. These stuffed dates are creamy, slightly bitter from the coffee, and perfectly balanced with the natural caramel sweetness of dates. The final dusting of cocoa powder ties it all together, creating an elegant, party-ready dessert or an indulgent snack you can keep in the fridge.

Serve these Tiramisu Stuffed Dates as an elegant after-dinner treat, on a festive dessert platter, or enjoy them with your evening coffee. They also make a thoughtful homemade gift for family and friends — just pack them in a pretty box!

Some Tips for Success!!

  1. Choose soft, fresh dates -Medjool dates work best because they’re large, juicy, and naturally caramel-like. Avoid dry or hard dates, as they won’t hold the filling well and might tear when you open them.
  2. Adjust sweetness to taste -Jaggery brings a warm, earthy sweetness, but you can increase or reduce the amount depending on your preference. You can also substitute with maple syrup, coconut sugar, or honey if you don’t have jaggery.
  3. Use good-quality mascarpone Fresh mascarpone makes a big difference — it should be creamy, smooth, and mildly sweet. If it’s too stiff, you can soften it slightly by leaving it at room temperature for a few minutes.
  4. Coffee intensity– Adjust the instant coffee amount if you prefer a stronger or milder coffee flavour.
  5. Dust just before serving – While you can store them dusted, they look freshest and most visually appealing if you dust the cocoa powder just before serving.
  6. Serving suggestions -Serve them cold for the best texture, or pair them with a shot of espresso or a small glass of dessert wine for an extra treat.

Storing

Store your Tiramisu Stuffed Dates in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. In fact, they taste even better the next day when filling infuses into the dates, creating a more luscious bite. You can also prepare and store the filling separately. Stuff the dates an hour or so before serving. 🙂

An easy, no-bake dessert with mascarpone, coffee, and jaggery filling inside dates, dusted with cocoa powder. These Tiramisu Stuffed Dates are decadent yet a healthy treat!

Ingredients

  • 20 pitted dates (Medjool dates work beautifully for their caramel-like texture)

  • 50 g mascarpone cheese

  • 3 tsp jaggery (you can use powdered or grated)

  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee

  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, jaggery, and instant coffee. Mix until smooth and creamy. The jaggery adds a caramel depth and natural sweetness, while the coffee brings that classic tiramisu kick.
  • Carefully open each pitted date without splitting them fully.
  • Fill each date generously with the mascarpone mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  • Arrange the stuffed dates on a plate and dust generously with cocoa powder.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving for the flavours to meld beautifully.

Notes

  • Avoid dry or hard dates, as they won’t hold the filling well and might tear when you open them.
  • You can also substitute with maple syrup, coconut sugar, or honey if you don’t have jaggery.
